Formadrain Now Distributes Award-Winning Lateral Cutters from Picote

Picote's Smart Cutter™

Picote’s Smart Cutter™

Formadrain is now the Canadian distributor of an exceptional line of small diameter lateral cutters from the Finnish company Picote. Picote, like Formadrain, is an innovator in its field and has created some remarkable products which are brilliantly simple and effective.

Since 2008, Picote has focused on in-house research and development and now offers a growing range of innovative, patented and patent-pending products, available for the first time to the international market. These resourceful tools and machinery are devised and perfected as a direct result of workforce and on-site feedback and evaluation. The company’s Smart Cutter™ system, which Formadrain will carry, won the ISTT new product award for 2012 at the 30th International ISTT No-Dig Show in Brazil.

Picote and Formadrain reached an agreement just prior to end of the year and, as of January 1, 2016, Formadrain became the Canadian distributor of the Picote line of lateral cutters and other products. Formadrain will also supply its own Licensee network across North America.

The Picote Smart Cutter™ is a unique and portable system for small diameter drains which reduces time and costs for the contractor, while making the renovation process easier for the client. Picote has used the system in vertical and lateral renovation of over 100 large scale apartment buildings, as well as numerous patch repairs. With it, they have won contracts worth over 10 Million Euros in recent years. Tried and tested, this system has already opened over 13,000 branches in Europe to date.

For cutting laterals in PVC piping, Picote has developed its new range of Twister cutters which Formadrain will also be distributing, as well as their brand new brush-coating equipment for corrosion treatment.
